Slept in Big Bed - Sunday, March 25, 2007

I slept in my toddler bed for the first time. I broke my crib over a week ago, and then we had to wait for half my bed to be delivered. I got used to sleeping on a mattress at Uncle Bobby's house this weekend, and then I slept in my own bed once I got home.

Went Potty - Wednesday, March 21, 2007

I peed in the big potty at school today. That took Mommy and Daddy by surprise.

Open Doors - Saturday, December 2, 2006

I opened a regular door today for the first time. Mommy and Daddy were pretty surprised! They are talking about getting the covers to keep me from turning the knob, but I just rip those off at daycare. Maybe they will just have to lock the doors.

Pretend Play - Friday, July 14, 2006

Mommy and Daddy have had fun watching me in my imaginary world. I use various toys like a telephone and hold conversations. I also make my blocks have conversations and take rides on my tricycle.

By the way, those last 4 teeth are out now. I have a beautiful mouth of pearly whites.

13th through 16th Teeth - Tuesday, June 27, 2006

These 4 teeth between my molars and my front ones started popping out. I am having trouble with these. I had a 102 fever and threw up for a couple of days.

11th and 12th Teeth - Saturday, April 15, 2006

Mommy noticed that my 2 molars on the left finally popped out with one on top and one on the bottom.

This is my first top molar, on the right. I still have 2 other molars waiting to pop out.

Standing Up Unsupported - Monday, March 20, 2006

While at my craniofacial clinic, I started standing up in the middle of the room without having something to brace me. Before, if I had fallen, I had to crawl to something to pull up on.

First Steps - Monday, January 23, 2006

I have started taking a couple of steps to cruise from one place to another. I am also standing on my own for longer periods of time. Daddy has to work overtime to keep me from pulling things off the desk and tables.

8th Tooth - Tuesday, December 27, 2005

I had been chewing on EVERYTHING, and Mommy saw this tooth poking through today. It is on the bottom to the right of the other three.

Cruising - Sunday, December 25, 2005

I am more mobile than ever! I can slowly "cruise" around things after I pull myself up to standing. I am also testing the waters with standing alone, but I end up falling on my butt and poofing my diaper.
Mommy is a nervous wreck watching me fall. Sometimes I fall backwards and smack my head, and Mommy feels her heart drop into her stomach. She is going to ask my surgeons if a soft-shelled helmet would be a good idea.

My therapists have been trying to get me to clap, and I finally did it tonight at the wedding for Uncle Bobby and Aunt Karissa. After the newlywed couple had their first dance and kissed, I started bouncing in my stroller and laughing and clapping.

I can pull myself up to standing now! I still cannot crawl normally, but maybe I will skip that and head straight to cruising.

I am getting closer and closer to regular crawling. I get on my hands and knees and rock back and forth, and then I collapse in exhaustion.

Army Crawl - Saturday, October 01, 2005

I have been using the army crawl to get around more and more. I probably started in the middle of September, but I only use it once in a while. Mommy, Daddy, and my physical therapist have been working me out to build my muscles.

I still fall over, requiring Mommy to cushion me, but I can sit up and play by myself now.

Held Bottle - Tuesday, September 27, 2005

I can feed myself without Mommy or Daddy around. They give me the bottle while I am on the floor, and I can drink the whole thing without help. If it comes out of my mouth, I can put it back in without help.

Physical Therapy - Monday, September 26, 2005

I have been diagnosed with hypotonia (low muscle tone). Today, I had my first physical therapy session to help me strengthen my tummy, arms, and neck. Soon, I will be strong enough to catch up with the other babies my age.

I can feed myself, now! I have trouble getting the bottle into my mouth, but I can hold it in once it arrives.

My first tooth has popped through! The molars went back under my gums, but my front bottom right tooth started coming out today. The swelling from the surgery will probably cover it again for a little while, but it will probably pop out again in a few days. At least I get to start this phase of teething while on a morphine drip!

I had been extra clingy and fussy for a few days when Mommy found 2 nubs where my top molars need to come out (one on each side). I did NOT like her touching those! We are still waiting to see what happens next.

Grabbed a Toy - Sunday, May 01, 2005

I first grabbed the hanging teethers on my gym and put them in my mouth to chew, and then a few days later I grabbed a rattle in my bassinet and proceeded to chew on it.

I rolled from my back to my belly while in my Pack 'n Play. Once again, I waited until Mommy was not looking!
